Golden Hour

Golden Hour: In photography, the golden hour (sometimes known as magic hour, especially in cinematography) is the first and last hour of sunlight during the day, when a specific photographic effect is achieved due to the quality of the light.

Life, like light, is fleeting. Here one moment, gone the next.

For those of us who have experienced great trauma, this comes as no surprise. We intuitively know it, for our lives have been completely altered within a matter of seconds – for some, more than once. We understand implicitly the ephemeral nature of life. We know that nothing is permanent. That in a moment, everything can change.

This is not a disturbing revelation; it simply is what it is. Life is not static; it is a process that requires constant movement and growth. It alters, like the light during sunrise, heralding the promise of a new day.

Find your golden hour. Embrace it for all that it is, for sooner or later, it will go away.

Now, go write.
